Illinois is doing it, im kinda ticked...however it seems a lot easier to practice for and hopefully less expensive...
2011 Season Events~

Fossils (Regionals ~1st) (State ~6th)
Towers (Regionals ~1st) (State ~3rd)
Helicopter (Regionals -3rd gahhh) (State ~5th)
Wind Power (Regionals ~1st) (State ~3rd TIERED!)

well our school has one vex kits for us to use, that will be intresting cuz they run on 2.4ghz but we cant use that so we will try to wire em

I personally think we should try to find crystals with other frequencies - do you guys know the cheapest place to buy crystals?

How do states get neat trial events like this?? (Robot arm looks awesome) I ask because my state (Alabama) never seems to get any . . .
Plotting the function of the universe for efficiency without your permission.

Projected 2011-2012 Events: Anatomy, Microbe Mission, Disease Detectives, Tower, Optics, Helicopter.
Past Events: Anatomy (7th), Helicopter (6th), Mission Possible (1st), Write It Do It (4th, 8th), Ornithology (5th).

Most times I think they just decide to run it based off if they have a proctor willing to do it and if they want to run extra events*

Apparently, robot arm is tentatively replaceing mission possible, and fermi questions are replacing sumo bots :?: :?: :?: I got this from the mission possible forum, 2011-2012 topic.

I believe that state directors are sometimes asked to run specific trial events by nationals, when national is considering adoption. I also believe that sometimes it works the other way - states propose an event and are asked to demonstrate its feasibility by running it as a trial.
