I'm not sure what the exact answer is, but it has something to do with bicycle playing cards.

The number of bicycles around the man is not significant, but there are less than one hundred.

OH! Amerikestrel gave me an idea! The man was playing cards with some people with bicycle cards. He did something to make them mad and got killed!

Good job robodude, but I think amerikestrel gets most of the credit here. That one took me a long time to figure out when I first heard it.
