3. Freshwater; has black and white quadrants (a marine one would be all white)

Cool! Looks like I still remember some of this event from when I did it in middle school.

1. What does the THC stand for?
2. What is its movement driven by?

Thermohaline circulation. It's driven by the variations in density caused by temperature and salinity of seawater. Denser water (colder, more saline) will sink, while less dense (warmer, less saline) water will rise. In general, most of the water sinks near the poles and rises near the equator and mid-latitudes.
