  • CV didn't do horribly but I had been expecting a top 20 finish from them...
  • What happened to Rustin (42nd place)? Probably didn't bring their best team(s), did poorly in some events that I'm pretty sure they're strong at.
  • SSA was a couple places behind Rustin - quite a few no-shows (replacement events) and bombs.
  • I was so happy when state college medalled multiple times :) didn't do great overall, about 15 places behind rustin, same situation as SSA where they no-showed some events.
  • North Pocono didn't do that great, 107th place.
(probably missing a couple less well known teams on this list)

edit: For divison B, Eagle View clearly unstacked, 41st and 48th. I don't think there's a superscore spreadsheet for div B... they probably would've placed somewhere in the 20s if stacked? Cali kinda swept Division B haha
I'm currently working on superscoring Division B, but still, California definitely dominated Div B, as 7/10 of the top 10 were from California (Superscored).

I would not dive too deep into teams' exact placements, with a tournament this large, this early in the season, there's going to be a lot of uncertainty. For example, Rustin was one spot behind Mira Loma, SSA was one spot behind Boca Raton, etc. By that same token, I don't think 107th place counts as "not that great", as this was a huge tournament with lots of good teams, and that's right in the middle. It's a fair showing for a team expected to be in the 7-15 range in PA.

What these results do prove is that State College has tons of potential this year. They beat good teams like Grand Haven, OSS, Menomonie, and Kellenberg. While a lot will change going forward, this certainly is a good starting point for them and establishes them as a team to watch.

It's harder to judge for Eagle View since there were fewer PA and East Coast teams to compare to, but they certainly had a solid performance. I'd expect them to be one of the 5 best teams in the state again.

North Pocono results are in!

Ranking teams by stacked score (with best team score in parentheses)
  1. Parkland - 130 (155)
  2. Bayard Rustin - 133 (138)
  3. Garnet Valley - 228 (228)
  4. Athens - 239 (239)
  5. North Penn - 278 (344)
  6. Hershey - 374 (374)
  7. West Chester East - 404 (404)
  8. Phoenixville - 432 (432)
  9. B. Reed Henderson - 441 (442)
  10. Northwestern Lehigh - 506 (728)
  11. Central Bucks South - 532 (532)
  12. Masterman - 537 (537)
  13. Kutztown - 546 (546)
  14. Emmaus - 572 (572)
  15. East Stroudsburg South - 659 (659)
  16. Pocono Mountain East - 669 (702)
  17. Wallenpaupack - 731 (731)
  18. Bermudian Springs - 748 (748)
  19. Upper Dublin - 797 (797)
  20. Shipley - 823 (823)
It's early of course, so everything should be taken with a grain of salt. But Parkland may be fulfilling some of the promise that they've held for a while. It was also a good showing for the bubble Southeast teams in WC East, Phoenixville, and Henderson.
