What steps have you all taken to improve consistency? I've been prototyping and testing different designs and materials lately, and none of them have been particularly reliable. Have any of you found or done something that causes your machine to work correctly (be accurate) pretty often?
Also, am I the only one who's had a bad experience with metal? It seems that every time I try experimenting with metal rods for my levers, the device accuracy plunges. Could that be due to the greater mass of the metal, or is there something else I'm missing? Strangely, the best levers in my experience seem to be wood rulers from Staples.
