So far people have found the clue to be quite simple how I planned. Enjoy the simplicity while it lasts. Hehe.
when will we find out if we are an officer?

The theme is quite intriguing, but, alas, I am not well informed in the history category (or the S.O. user category, for that matter) so I will happily watch.

If the clue is in the hidden text, please PM it to me becaus hidden text hasn't been working on my computer for whatever reason. If not, then I'll figure it out

Nevermind I found it

Aaaaand I sent in my answer.... hopefully this doesn't backfire. I'm far from a history person.
For the sassy's sake I hope that people participate this game. The game I was sassy for was the same time as nats, and I ended up taking a week-long break since I didn't have time to do it and neither did anyone else.

I'm having trouble. The clue clearly talks about the new world, and leaving the old world, but I'm no history buff, and searching "what happened in 1621?" isn't working. Any advice?

EDIT: The mention of Sun-Tzu, war strategist, and the number 30. 30 years war?

The problem is a lot of things happened in 1621 and you need something else in the clue to narrow down the search results

Sun Tzu's tactics were popular during westward expansion.... The quote in the sig mentions west, and Colubus sailed west to the new world. 1621 was the year of the first thanksgiving, and that can't be a coincidence. However, I'm unsure what the sassy is looking for in terms of an answer. It could also be the 30 years war given that the sassy loves Sun Tzu.

EDIT: I got it. Hope it's in time.

Huh, my guess was actually right. I guess I'm an officer then. Also, the sassy was right about the answer being fairly simple. Don't read into it too much.
