So I have a question. Last year was my first States experience, and it was quite the doozy shuffling events around after the regional competition to fit the States Event Schedule. I noticed others mentioning that States Competitions attempt to follow the National Event Schedule- but that does not seem to be true in the past year.
Basically, is the lack of correlation between the National and NY States Event Schedule some kind of 'proud' NY tradition to forge our teams to have 15 members who can do all events or was it a 2019 hiccup? Was wondering, because it certainly seems like knowing the event conflicts would be amazing to prevent situations such as when a fellow member had to drop Codebusters following the Regional due to the 2019 conflict with Fossils.

Afaik, it's often difficult to follow the National schedule when you lack A. volunteers B. enough testing spaces/rooms. Texas state always does it's own thing for that reason. Whatever works out best for the tournament is what they go with, and usually that's not the Nats schedule.

Regionals:
Div C:
Eastern Long Island: 2/1/20 @ Hauppauge HS
Lake Erie Niagara: 2/1/20 @ Buffalo State College
Mid Hudson: 2/8/20 @ John Jay HS
Mid State: 1/25/20 @ Le Moyne College
Nassau East: 2/1/20 @ Division Ave. HS
Nassau West: 2/1/20 @ Kellenberg Mem HS
NYC East: 2/8/20 @ Grover Cleveland HS
Southern Tier 2/8/20 @ Maine-Endwell MS
Is there any list that shows which NYC schools were placed in NYC East and which were placed in NYC West? I believe my school would be in East but I would like to know what other schools are in our region.

I believe schools in the Bronx and Northern Manhattan are in NYC West and schools in Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Southern Manhattan are in NYC East, with the dividing line being 59th and Columbus Circle.

NYC East is Richmond, Kings, Queens, & Southern New York Counties. NYC West is Bronx County & Northern New York County. So whichever county you are in decides NYC East/West.
