My teacher made me write a DBQ with the prompt "evaluate the extent to which a hot dog is a sandwich*"

my thesis was a hot dog is a sandwich* to a very moderate extent. Although it does resemble a sandwich*, it lacks the 2 pieces of bread that other types of sandwiches* have. Also,* it has more significance in American culture than regular sandwiches*.

I would call a hot dog a sub sandwich. Take one hunk of a somewhat cylindrical-shaped bread and cut it only partially horizontal. You can either put a hot dog or sliced salami in the bread. Some people have "subs" that are sliced all the way through, but those are just long sandwiches, prove me wrong.

Ravioli is a type of dish specific to a certain region. Calling a pop-tart ravioli would be like calling one of those McDonald's pies ravioli - it just doesn't make sense.

Cereal is soup. Milk is mainly water and so is broth. Fat-free milk relates the most to broth. You can chuck in nuts and bolts into a broth and call it a soup... it may not taste good, nor good for your teeth, but it is a soup. Now the real question is whether it must be warmed up to be called a soup. Go ahead and warm up your cereal and eat it. If you want your cereal to be a soup, go ahead and do that to solidify your argument.
