Looks like a tough group of officers and informants that I'll have to go against. I am not the least bit scared though. Lets see if you can stop me.

Einstein
James Dean
Davy Crockett
Peter Pan
Elvis Presley

In this new age, who was the first to give me their vote?

An obvious reference to We Didn't Start the Fire by Billy Joel
We Didn't Start the Fire wrote: Harry Truman, Doris Day, Red China, Johnny Ray
South Pacific, Walter Winchell, Joe DiMaggio

Joe McCarthy, Richard Nixon, Studebaker, Television
North Korea, South Korea, Marilyn Monroe

Rosenbergs, H Bomb, Sugar Ray, Panmunjom
Brando, The King And I, and The Catcher In The Rye

Eisenhower, Vaccine, England's got a new queen
Maciano, Liberace, Santayana goodbye

Chorus:
We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it

Joseph Stalin, Malenkov, Nasser and Prokofiev
Rockefeller, Campanella, Communist Bloc

Roy Cohn, Juan Peron, Toscanini, Dancron
Dien Bien Phu Falls, Rock Around the Clock

Einstein, James Dean, Brooklyn's got a winning team
Davy Crockett, Peter Pan, Elvis Presley, Disneyland

Bardot, Budapest, Alabama, Khrushchev
Princess Grace, Peyton Place, Trouble in the Suez

Chorus

Little Rock, Pasternak, Mickey Mantle, Kerouac
Sputnik, Chou En-Lai, Bridge On The River Kwai

Lebanon, Charles de Gaulle, California baseball
Starkwether, Homicide, Children of Thalidomide
Buddy Holly, Ben Hur, Space Monkey, Mafia
Hula Hoops, Castro, Edsel is a no-go

U2, Syngman Rhee, payola and Kennedy
Chubby Checker, Psycho, Belgians in the Congo

Chorus

Hemingway, Eichman, Stranger in a Strange Land
Dylan, Berlin, Bay of Pigs invasion

Lawrence of Arabia, British Beatlemania
Ole Miss, John Glenn, Liston beats Patterson

Pope Paul, Malcolm X, British Politician sex
J.F.K. blown away, what else do I have to say

Chorus

Birth control, Ho Chi Minh, Richard Nixon back again
Moonshot, Woodstock, Watergate, punk rock
Begin, Reagan, Palestine, Terror on the airline
Ayatollah's in Iran, Russians in Afghanistan

Wheel of Fortune, Sally Ride, heavy metal, suicide
Foreign debts, homeless Vets, AIDS, Crack, Bernie Goetz
Hypodermics on the shores, China's under martial law
Rock and Roller cola wars, I can't take it anymore

Chorus
My thoughts:
These events are all from the year 1955 (thank you wikipedia):
Einstein dies on April 18 at the age of 76.
James Dean achieves success with East of Eden and Rebel Without a Cause, gets nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor, and dies in a car accident on September 30.
Brooklyn's got a winning team - Brooklyn dodgers win the world series
Davy Crockett the television series launches
Peter Pan is broadcasted on TV live in color
Elvis Presly signs with RCA records
Disneyland opens on July17th

"Brooklyn's got a winning team" and "Disneyland" were left out, they may be significant

Billy Joel could have something to do with the user being targeted, (and also possibly the assassinator) I'm new to this forum, are there any big Billy Joel fans here?

Could be referencing the change in the way clues are given :?:
Could be referencing a rule that was accidentally place in one of the earlier games :?:
Could Also be referencing the recent election :?:
I guess it could also have something to do with a poll :?:

These users have all mentioned Billy Joel as one of their favorite artists:

karatekid44
andrewwski
EASTstroudsberg13
Phenylethylamine
denmarksoccer
sadistic_cottoncandy

Of course, "We Didn't Start the Fire" is a relatively well known song, so this information may be useless.

Brooklyn's got a winning team could refer to Los Angeles as the Brooklyn Dodgers long ago moved to LA.
Disneyland is of course, also in metropolitan Los Angeles.

Both of the two missing lines can be connected to Los Angeles. It could be a coincidence (I wouldn't be suprised) however perhaps some people from California should be protected. If there is anyone active on the boards from LA I don't know about it, which is why I say California.

We never said you were

And We didn't start the fire only turns up one relevant result, and it isn't about someone liking the song, its about someone picking it as their team song. If someone likes billy joel, we can safely assume they like 'We Didn't Start the Fire' as well.

But honestly, I don't think people liking billy joel has much to do with the clue.

Read carefully, and don't take offense so quickly next time

I would say Starpug should protect himself, it could be some vague reference to California being left out or something referencing leaving. It's a stretch, but it's all I can think of.
