Strategic warpage in the wing to tighten the turn circle.

theres a guide on jeff andersons (i think its from him) guide on the soinc website
u basically warp the wing so the front left side is further down towards the ground than the right side
and in the back the right side is lower than the left (looking from the front)

Do you have a link of some sort for this guide? I think I know what you are talking about but am not completely sure if it's the right page or not.

I'm talking about something like this:

Zeigler explains it better than I do.

so i reviewed your flight
one thing i noticed which im curious abt
what is your motor length?
cause youre getting a good amount of power
but your plane is goin too fast
and isnt getting enough winds to stay up long enough
im wondering maybe if thinner rubber isnt working and delivering enough power
that you could make ur motor longer but keep the same thickness and see if that works

Sciolywin,

Sorry to just be joining the discussion. Had practice with two of my teams yesterday and family stuff today.

When you state that your airplane “...doesn’t have enough lift to go up...”, please describe in detail your airplane (FF kit?, wing incidence, CG location, stab incidence, stab tilt, washin amount on wing and stab, rudder offset), propeller type and pitch, rubber motor (weight and length), and winding strategy (max turns, max torque, backoff turns, launch torque) and details of flight (climbs quickly for six circles to a 24 ft ceiling in 30 seconds, cruises at the ceiling for one minute and descends in 45 seconds; 25 ft diameter circles; no blowers on in the flying area.

If you provide this detail, we can give you very specific assistance.

No apology needed, many have contributed to WS knowledge over the years. And anything I've contributed has originated someplace earlier.

If you tilt the bottom picture from Zeigler. If you tilt the plane until the stab is level, you can think of the wing as tilted. BUT, what everyone is trying to say, you don't want to turn because of bank. You want to fly wings level. Turn from stab tilt, stab offset, and prop offset.
To get the wings level, you have the left wing (wing left and right are typically defined when looking from the REAR by the way) longer and just the right amount of washin (trailing edge down vs leading edge vs root of wing) to bring the left (generally inner wing indoors) up to level. This increases lift and reduces drag. Flying banked is very draggy and reduces overall lift.

If you are flying with a lot of left bank, I strongly suspect you need to add more washin to your left wing. SMALL amounts. You can do this by cracking your leading edge at the center and reglueing it with a slight kink up, or cracking your trailing edge at the center and reglueing with the trailing edge down.
