Questions for Junkyard Challenge:
Would dropping a ball onto a ramp to get it from the middle to the north mouse trap be consider a result of direct touch?
and
What are the standards of direct touch? Could you please give examples of what's allowed and what is not allowed.

Re: Junkyard Challenge B
As for your first question - no, that would be fine.
"Direct touch" means, you doing anything other than releasing the golf ball, ie: setting off the mousetrap with a pencil, pushing some other element that didn't go off correctly...
Basically: all you're allowed to do is release a golf ball. Anything the device does on its own after that is fine, anything you have to activate or do or touch will incur a penalty.

Re: Junkyard Challenge B
It says in the rules that our box can be made out of anything, and that it can be a part of our contraption. Could we, say, make a box out of legos, then take the box apart and use the legos?

Re: Junkyard Challenge B
If it's not specifically forbidden by the rules, then anything goes.

Re: Junkyard Challenge B
So you could have a box made out of cardboard, bring all the junk in it, and then tear it up to use in the machine?
Sure, if you find a way to put the water in the box and not have it spill or anything until you're ready to use it.robodude wrote:Can we use non-flamable/dangerous liquids? like water?

yah, but then don't forget that you have to find a way to break down your contraption to bring it home at the end of the competition.
