Murphy (16) replaces PJ Gelinas.
Oops didn’t realize that.Matholy wrote:Murphy (16) replaces PJ Gelinas.
Indeed...I'm curious as to why it's Murphy + Eagle Hill instead of Murphy + Gelinas or even still Gelinas + Eagle Hill. Gelinas has mistakes...but for this year I'd imagine them to be decently set for a nats spot? Unless you just base it off of last year, which I recall was a bit of an exception in recent recent history.Cow481 wrote:Oops didn’t realize that.Matholy wrote:Murphy (16) replaces PJ Gelinas.
I think I intended to do 12. Gelinas and 16. Murphy, and somehow ended up with two of Hamilton instead. I agree it's more likely for Gelinas than Eagle Hill.syo_astro wrote:Indeed...I'm curious as to why it's Murphy + Eagle Hill instead of Murphy + Gelinas or even still Gelinas + Eagle Hill. I guess I'll start up the conversation:
1. Daniel Wright
2. Solon
3. Beckendorff
4. Kennedy ()
5. Longfellow
6. Marie Murphy
7. Meads Mill
8. WW-P Community
9. Springhouse
10. Hamilton
11. Piedmont
12. Hamilton
13. Shady Side
14. Baker
15. Kraemer
16. Murphy (hype!)
17. Tower Heights
18. Ladue
19. Dodgen
20. Eagle Hill
I don't know about that; Community looked really strong at Rustin, and lost Garnet because of bombs. In general, CMS seems to be doing bad because of bombs; e.g last place in Roller at states. I think Beckendorff will win this year, they are doing well.vb wrote:Unome wrote:It's about time we had soem actual prediction threads,

I think, Springhouse will do better this year compared to last. Looking at their invitationals and regional results.. they may be up 2-3 positions. They faced Community in invitationals, I think, they can beat Community.
SSA is another team that I bank on.
Honestly we are up against some really competitive teams this year in states, and even though Eagle Hill has lost captains, we still need to worry about them, and since we beat Gelinas at regionals we know they're going to work so much harder for states. Our chances of making nats are low, because Gelinas has been doing well and so have Eagle Hill and the rest of the teams, like Bay Academy and such.Unome wrote:It's about time we had soem actual prediction threads,

Our chance of making nationals is sorta low. And even if we do, I doubt we could be top 20Unome wrote:It's about time we had soem actual prediction threads,

Eagle Hill lost 5 solid freshmen who are now on the Fayetteville-Manlius team, plus a good eighth grader who moved away. Also, both of their coaches stopped coaching, and their new coaches have no prior Science Olympiad experience.kate! wrote:Honestly we are up against some really competitive teams this year in states, and even though Eagle Hill has lost captains, we still need to worry about them, and since we beat Gelinas at regionals we know they're going to work so much harder for states.
