Oh, and bring LOADS of extra goggles. Someone will always forget their goggles, whether it's your team or another team. Always be willing to lend a team goggles if they don't have them, because you would want them to do the same for you :D (Same with pencils).

We also take a binder with extra copies of everyone's notes sheets (including photocopies of the handwritten ones, because even though you can't use a photocopy, you could at least rewrite it onto some of that ream of paper if you lose the original).
i'm know the evnt but i didn't do it what is mylar anyway?

You know those balloons they sell at the grocery store, the shiny ones with pictures on them? Those are made of a very thick mylar. It's just a kind of plastic. The type they use for the wings is a lot thinner than that, but it's the same idea. It's a lot like Saran wrap, actually.

Yes I just checked the list again and saw that only one pair of goggles were to be packed. ALWAYS bring extra goggles, and safety spectacles, as you never know when you might need them.

Extra non-programmable calculators are also useful to pack extras of, and extra aprons in case something happens and you don't have them for Chem Lab.

We have most of this extra stuff in our team box... but we ran into a little problem with the Friday events (at NY States, most of the events are on Saturday, but one or two- this year, Experimental Design and Disease Detectives- are on Friday evening), because our team box was still on the bus, with our goggles in it. We managed to borrow some from our sister school, Murphy, but it was a little frantic because we realized OH SHOOT WE DON'T HAVE GOGGLES and started running around, until the Murphy coach said, "Oh, we have some extras on our bus, want them?" Since we were taking their bus from the hotel to New Paltz, that saved us :D .

Lol one time I saw a team that was trying to replace a REALLY old battery. The end was bulging because the acid was leaking so much... what a hazard. >.>

Eh, it's not gonna hurt you unless you eat it or something.

I've had majorly corroded batteries to deal with before (not in S.O. though). They're a pain...especially if you need to sand down the contacts to give them their conductivity back. Worst thing I've ever seen though was not only a corroded battery, but corroded electronics on the inside. I've seen some really wrecked electronics from sitting idle for years with batteries in them.

As far as general supplies for the team goes, make sure you've got enough goggles, aprons, calculators, aprons, etc.
