Re: Prequel Memes

This is getting merged with the old Scioly Memes thread, because as great as prequel memes are, they don't really need their own thread.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Mission Possible. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Rube Goldberg Machines most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Rube's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Scioly.org literature, for instance. The competitors understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about MEDALS. As a consequence people who dislike Mission Possible truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rube's mechanical setup, transforming elastic, kinetic, and potential energy with ease, and which itself is a cryptic reference to Newton's Principia Mathematica. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Gerard Putz’s genius wit unfolds itself during the awards ceremony. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Mission Possible tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that their medal count is within 5 of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 8-)

Okay literally why are you quoting me, my comment and that of the people following me were mocking someone else?

Do you not recognize a meme copypasta when you see one? Are you this bad at understanding the context of things?

Additionally, check out my signature, that's more medals than you'll ever see.

TBH, I take issue with the prequel meme that started off this whole debate. First of all, the main reason people hate the prequels is because it's a popular opinion, but that's another discussion entirely...

If anything, I would expect freshman with Division B experience to be the most likely Mission Possible competitors. They have the most recent experience with the event.

Mock Award List

Post by drcubbin »

Several years back, I came across a list of "mock" awards (e.g. - Parasite Award - for the student who did the least work in a team, etc...). We are looking to have a Summer Meet Up/Reunion and I would like to make up "mock" certificates for these "mock" awards and give them out on this day. These were posted inside my room by the exit door, and the kids always got a big kick out of saying who deserved what award... especially after competitions! Does anyone have a pic of that or a copy they could post? Our get together will be the second week of August. Much appreciated! NATS 2024!!!!
