I think so. Whoever they are, they beat our Rocks & Minerals genius in that event last year at Nats, and I don't think he's forgiven them yet

They placed in top 10! That's impressive for a bunch of kids that don't go to school together. But then again they have a lot more time on their hands. They don't have to go to school and don't get as much homework. I imagine that some of their parents let them work on SO instead of school on some days.

Presumably. Actually, there's another school in E.L.I. that gets the entire day before States off from classes just to study for their events.
I wish we got that kind of privileges.
Still, we got 2nd at States and they weren't even in the top 10, so that pretty clearly wasn't the deciding factor.

we sort of do that. but we tour the event site(s), find where we will be competing in the next day, and then go and study for the remainder of the day until school's out (we are back at school by that time)
The Glass is neither half full nor half empty-it is simply twice as large as it needs to be.

Our States is two days, so we miss a day of school anyway. Still, this other school gets another day on top of that just to study (we don't officially get that, but I did cut one of my electives in favor of studying the day before XD).

Our team was really mad because States was over spring break for some people... our spring break was the week after. It frustrated people who wanted to study.

Our States was the week after spring break, so we almost felt like we didn't even really go back to school, since we were all so focused on SciO for those 3 days.
