Where is the discount code (or was it just your team or something)?

EDIT: Hey, off topic, but 100th post! :D

We are using a Pi-Bot Stem board kit for learning purposes. We finished the assembly and vehicle moves.
We are trying to get it to move straight. The kit has Polulu 70168 Double gearbox assembly, 56mm Tamiya wheels.
We need help on deciding encoders. We don't know where to start.
should we consider wheel encoders? We would like to add encoder to the existing pi-bot kit.
Please help.

Hi all,

I currently have a design that utilizes 6mm axles. I am currently using an Arduino microcontroller along with the standard Arduino motor-shield.
Currently I am thinking about using the 6mm rotary encoder found here: (http://www.robotshop.com/en/6mm-rotary- ... 4-p-r.html). It, however, is rather large for our uses (being 7cm in height). Can someone provide feedback as to what encoder system I should use?

Thanks.

Currently most quadrature encoders are about the same size as the one you're considering. I am currently using a similar encoder found here which might be a little bit smaller: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00UTIFC ... ref=plSrch

Good luck!
