Not to offend anyone by insulting what's important to them, but is the abortion stance really a huge factor in this? Personally, I'm pro-choice, because I think that abortion is the business of the parent, and that others shouldnt affect someone elses life in that way. But no matter who is right or not, I dont think that abortion should be a gigantic issue, especially since the president isnt really the one who controls that (that would be Congress). I dont mean to start a riot, these are my personal views. So dont start yelling at me.
And the thing im most excited about is that the election's over in 2 days! Woohoo! No more listening to propaganda on every channel! Well, until whoever gets elected does something dumb that ends his honeymoon period, and then everyone goes back to mudslinging again =/

Abortion discussions usually work out pretty well

So if we can leave that topic at the door, that'd be great ;)

Don't be divisive and have this us-vs-them mentality, and then it won't matter who wins.

Entrance/exit polling by the media on election day.

Discuss.

Definitely has an impact. Take 2000 for example. CNN called the election for Gore by as early as 7 PM Eastern Time. That makes it 4 PM in the West Coast...and most people haven't left work to go vote yet.

So if they're seeing the media claim the election is over, are they going to go out and vote if they are told it doesn't matter?

I don't like it for that reason. Showing exit polls is fine, but drawing any conclusions from it should wait until later. Unfortunately, this won't happen, as each channel wants to be the first to "call" the winner.

a word about computernerd's signature: you have to be kidding me if McCain put PEACE on there, isn't it kind of contradicting since he said we're going to be in iraq for about 100 years if needed??

I believe that his "plan" to stay 100 years if needed refers to peaceful occupation by US troops, as in Japan or South Korea. I don't know if that would work or not in Iraq, and I don't know if that is the best plan to follow.
