Re: Anatomy B/C
For the diseases, our coach gave us a handout with columns that said, Cell, Organ System and Tissue. We were supposed to fill out information pertaining to those diseases in each column. Does anyone understand that?

Re: Anatomy B/C
it probably also refers to what the disease is doing on each level.

Re: Anatomy B/C
our invitationals test had a lot on the muscular system at the smallest level.... not our strong point (but really, is it anyone's?). we did okay, though, if you can call first place okay
i can give specifics later.

There is some decent information about the muscular system on the molecular level in my CliffsAP Biology review book.chia wrote:our invitationals test had a lot on the muscular system at the smallest level.... not our strong point (but really, is it anyone's?). we did okay, though, if you can call first place okayi can give specifics later.

Re: Anatomy B/C
Hey guys. This is my first time doing Science Olympiad.
I volunteered to cover anatomy for my team. Is it a problem that I won't have a partner? Lets say that I knew the material well enough for two people. Would I still be severely disadvantaged because it's timed? Do I have a chance of doing well?

Can't believe this is my first & last chance to do SO.

Re: Anatomy B/C
i've seen people compete w/ only one person
sometimes a person is just there to fill in the spot but doesnt really do anything
also it depends on how well u work and study
if u work better alone then u won't be at a disadvantage b/c u can concentrate everything on the test and not have to worry ur partner messed up or something so it depends
just because its timed does not mean u will be at a disadvantage. once again, it depends.
sometimes the event supervisor will make the test so u won't finish, other times, u will finish in 10 minutes and it depends if its regionals, states, or nationals
i wouldn't worry about having a partner or not, just study what u can and if ur coach asigns a random person to do the event, u can get him/her to study the things that u aren't able to study in time

Re: Anatomy B/C
Hey I'm taking this test tomorrow... I'm not in human anatomy but my partner is. The sheet my teacher gave us said it would be over the muscular, skeletal, and endocrine systems. They hadn't covered endocrine yet for my partners class so I volunteered to learn that. I've spent alot of time learning it n depth... and now I went to the science olympiad website and it doesn't even mention endocrine, just skeletal and muscular?! please tell me I didn't study for nothing....
