Re: Texas 2010
Calm yourselves, children.
Its never a good idea to disregard anyone who is competing with you. Even at LASA, every year the week before state, we have a team-wide "freak-out" where we realize how unprepared we are, and think about how everything could go wrong and cause us to lose.
There's nothing wrong with being confident in your ability, but if you publicly disregard teams like Kealing and Kelly Lane (who between them have won state every year for the last 5 years or so) and Riverwood, it will most likely cause the people on those teams to want to work even harder to prove you wrong.

Funny, we do the EXACT same thingandrew418 wrote: Its never a good idea to disregard anyone who is competing with you. anything that happens happens.
anything that, in happening causes something else to happen, causes something else to happen.
anything that, in happening, causes itself to happen again, happens again.
it doesn't necessarily do it in chronological order, though.

Re: Texas 2010
But who are you to be speaking for Beckandorf? You're in Div. C!
I never said that us here at WCJH are disregarding Kelley lane and them. We just seem to have a greater rivalry with Beckandorf (don't ask me why)
Kelley lane and Co. are also going to be a problem for us, but at the same time, don't forget the final rankings: Beckandorf A and B both got into the top 3, with us being in 4th. And just because you don't get to state doesn't mean you aren't a good team. Does a team that gets 3rd place every year in State a bad team? No way!
Enough bickering, though. All these problems will be solved in 2 days when WCJH kicks everyone's butts!
See you all there!

Re: Texas 2010
I'm sorry I think we have a slight misunderstanding. You see, duckiegirl, robodude and 2win don't go to Beckendorff- they go to Woodcreek.big D wrote:Remind me again of how many state competitions Beckendorf has won again? what zero you say? hmmmm.... ok well then how many national competitions have they been to? what?!?!? also zero? hmmmm... lets see who has won state for the last several years.... that would be Kelley lane (formerly the parkcrest team before the school was split and Kelley lane was created), Kealing, and Parkcrest. also it should be noted that at nationals last year Kealing placed 18th and Kelly lane came in 42. a team that ranks 18th at nationals shouldn't be laughed off especially by a team that has yet to win a state competition.
all that being said and all sarcasm aside, Beckendorf has a great team. in fact it reminds me of the up and coming kealing team of 5-6 years ago that was challenging the then dominating Parkcrest. Yall over at Beckendorf are relatively new to the world of Science Olympiad so i am going to cut you some slack, but in the future think before you post and if you really must talk trash have a record of excellence (or at least a solid state victory) to back it up.
