You wont be saying that when googling becomes a sport.
and you have to be able to do more than google. you have to be able to find the information on a certain cite, then graph it and answer questions about it in the fifty minutes given. its harder than it sounds.
I've competed in this event before; I know there are other portions to the test. However, most people in Scioly know how to graph and answer questions if they know how to google. Well, at least it's in Div B and not C. I can't imagine too many people missing questions if it were a high school event.

*sigh my tech learning disablities are showing again... i know how to google like no other but excel  ummm i can open it? does that count? I did the event in 6th grade we did pretty well for 6th graders (my partner was also a 6th grader) (as you can tell she did everything but the googleing) (10th at states) so long story short i know how to google VERY well but i still can't use excel 8-)

First off I suggest looking at the Compute This forum under Lab events, not general chat.

Second I suggest looking at the Wiki
2007 Events: Remote Sensing, Astronomy, Fermi Questions, SumoBots
2008 Events: Remote Sensing, Astronomy, Herpetology, SumoBots, Forensics

2009 Events: Remote Sensing 3, Astronomy 2, Fossils 2, Sumobots 1, It's About Time 1, Chem Lab 2

there's not much help for this event that you can get online, i would ask one of the computer teachers at your school, they should be able to help you learn how to search the web and use excel

and online you should try to find excel tutorials, the links you probably need to find on your own

and i would suggest you make a website so that you can easily get to any links that you find that would be helpful, i think that is allowed this year, and make sure all the links you use information from are under the right domain
