Re: The Economic Crisis
But you're not necessarily making money off of it if it was expensive to buy. You have to buy low, sell high to make money (or buy high, sell higher
).

Re: The Economic Crisis
I think the only stock I own (not my parents mine) is in GE though i'm not sure how many shares it is because it was an inheritance and my grandmother only died recently.

Re: The Economic Crisis
Well, that Burger King graph is over the past year - everything fell like that over the past year. Burger King doesn't look to great though as it dropped again early this year, when most stocks were going up.
The right time to buy most stocks was earlier this year, when a lot had bottomed out and started turning the other way. Now's not a bad time either though, as the market will keep going up.
Going up $10/share doesn't really mean anything though...not without knowing what you bought it for and what it's worth now. If Berkshire Hathaway (not that you own any) goes up $10/share, that's really an irrelevant change. If something like Google goes up $10/share, that's not bad, but it's only a 3% change - nothing out of the ordinary. If GM were to go up $10 tomorrow though, that'd be huge.
http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=pir - Pier One - if you bought them as penny stock, it's not bad.
And you can also buy high, sell low, and make money. If you bear trade by shortselling, you want high stocks to fall.

we're you talking to me?49ers wrote:thats intersting my group for fake stock market using real prices wanted to invest in GE but i said no, how has it been going?
If you were not so good, GE's stock has done nothing but drop recnetly--their recent profits were lower than expected so I would expect that to be why.
