How does your team study/build
I wonder what your teams does to study or to build. My team makes powerpoints but have been pretty useless with them. For building we have groups to make the project. The problem is the more people in a group, the less work is done. For powerpoints we barely use them and usually are too late and not finished on time. I just look up stuff myself on my own time. How do your teams study?

Re: How does your team study/build
During our "regular season" (up untill regionals) we meet in a classroom 2 days a week and in the tech room 1 day a week. This obviously isn't nearly enough, but it is enough to get needed help from the coaches and for people without tools at home to do a bit of building. Right before Regionals or between Regionals and States we meet as often as my coach can; usually 4 days a week. Peoples' outside effort can be generalized as follows:
People who don't go to States-a bit of outside studying (we have 3 teams, so that definitely doesn't mean they don't try if they don't go to States)
People who go to States but don't medal-a very good amount of outside studying
People who medal at States-a ton of outside work
And of course these are very broad generalizations
Personally I usually use practice to get printouts and build my binder, and study that stuff and get some new info at home. I don't even go to building practice because the tech teacher knows nothing about these planes.

Re: How does your team study/build
we usually just study on our own/with partners. the method of studying realy depends on you. i prefer flashcards...so do a lot of other people. others study straight from the source, and yet others make a binder and study from that. we all make a binder and at one point study from it, but sometimes they get too big or something. we only ask our coaches for resources and stuff....we help each other out, test each other, give each other resources....and yeah....
building...almost all buiding is done at home and testing the devices is done both at home and in school

Re: How does your team study/build
yep. basically studying is done by ourselves or if coaches to help point thing out. some of our coaches are really knowledgeable in some events, but mostly building events we are left alone to work by ourselves. building, we usually design in school, but the building is usually done by one or sometimes two people

Re: How does your team study/build
We have people (mostly alternates) make practice events for the team; personally, for my study events, I take notes off of Wikipedia and whatever other websites I can find. We meet all the time, but we don't always get useful stuff done at the meetings (which is partly because we tend to slack off and partly because our coach can take a "fifteen minute meeting" and talk for two hours).
