Re: Write it Do it
Googolplex are not particularly challenging. If you're familiar with K'nex and Legos, you should be fine with these, as I actually find them easier than both of those. All you have to do is make sure you clearly define things for your partner. You probably have all have different names for the dots on Legos and so on, and just when you write make sure that you are perfectly clear what you're going to be calling things you've never practiced with before. Other than that, it's just like writing with anything else; they aren't that complicated because there are only certain configurations possible. We medaled at nationals having never seen them before.

Not too randomsk8lynne wrote:at ny states they used a peg board with pegs, rubberbands, washers, and paperclips
Now what Colorado uses is random.
My first year in the event they used
Foam board and sewing pins
At the Invite here this year was the first time i had seen a building set
Regionals this year was
Foam, Floral Pins, Coffee straw, Clothepins, little foam shapes, and a white basket
State this year here was
Cups, toothpicks, BBQ skewers, Bobby pins, Pipe cleaners, and beads.
I also heard that last year at our regional comp Mesh Wire was used

Re: Write it Do it
I'd like to know: which is harder, writing or doing? I would say doing, because it depends on the writer what the instructions are.

Re: Write it Do it
I say writing just because I have illegible hand-writing, but doing is pretty tough too.

Re: Write it Do it
I would say it all depends on the writer, there is so much more pressure because if ur directions are bad then the do'er can't do well at all

Re: Write it Do it
writer. the writer has to find the right way to write about stuff. if you don't know how your doer thinks, it's almost impossible to do well. the writer has to learn how to write for their specific doer.
