They did not make it to nationals.
They are 2 time winning Robo-crossians for SoCal
They won both times with that claw.
It is pretty darn fast for a claw.

changing the motor doesnt seem to make it go to much faster but it does give me a good amount of control back
Must be my day in the wayback machine! I missed this one when it went by.

Motors generate signals that can interfere with the radio receiver and cause control problems. As motors age, they tend to generate more signal and cause more interference.

A small bypass capacitor connected between the motor terminals (as close to the motor as possible) will absorb this signal, reducing the interference. An inexpensive .01uF ceramic disk capacitor, available from Radio Shack, should do the job.

For more information than you ever wanted to know, see: Bypass Capacitors

Don't know if this will help your problem, but it can also reduce the interference to others as well.
Information expressed here is solely the opinion of the author. Any similarity to that of the management or any official instrument is purely coincidental! Doing Science Olympiad since 1987!

Is anyone able to tell what they used to pick up the coins?
Was it just the claw or did they attach something to the claw?

Thanks.
