What are these events?

For anything Science Olympiad-related that might not fall under a specific event or competition.

What are these events?

Post by pumptato-cat »

I've noticed events such as Engineering CAD and Aerial Scramble in the national rules. Are these run as official events, or are they trials? They do not show up on the national schedule or have individual threads in the forums.

Yeah, they're in the trial event section. If you don't recognize them, they may just be trial events that were not announced in the spring.

There are events that are not part of the official 23-event slate but are options for tournaments to trial to provide feedback to help with developing the events. Usually rankings from these events are not included in team scores but sometimes tournaments may use them to replace events in the main slate. The national tournament will likely run some (not all) from the list.

Ah, got it--thanks! I've been competing in the same events for so long that I never figured out how trials were run...
