MANHATTAN - UNDER THE HIGHWAY
Police sirens wail as the crowd of teenagers scatter in a panic. Two bodies lie on the ground- both the Jets leader Riff and the Sharks leader Bernardo have perished in a rumble gone wrong.
Mouthpiece, one of the Jets, jumps a wire fence and crouches behind a plaster wall. They begin looking about for their next move, when a figure leaps from the shadows and tackles them.
MOUTHPIECE (raytay)
What? HEY!
The assailant is revealed to be Chino, one of the Sharks. He stabs violently with his switchblade, Mouthpiece barely rolling away from the attack. Dark strands trail in the arm’s wake, melding into the ones that weave into Chino’s limbs.
MOUTHPIECE (raytay)
(still shocked) What are you, crazy?!
Chino’s only response is to roar and continue attacking. Mouthpiece tries to draw their own knife, but Chino knocks it out of their hand and pins them against the wall. His savage downward swipe is interrupted by the sudden appearance of Anybodys, whose sidekick sends him flying back into the fence.
ANYBODYS (LittleMissNyan)
Yeah, and you’d better scram if you know what’s good for you!
Searchlights flash to life, catching Chino in their glare. Mouthpiece and Anybodys scatter as police whistles intensify. Chino scrambles to his feet and dives out of sight, a searchlight following his path. The strands have disappeared.
Anybodys dodges a beam and catches sight of Tony, who has not moved from his position over the bodies this entire time. She mutters an exclamation and scurries over to Tony, tugging insistently at his arm.
ANYBODYS (LittleMissNyan)
(in a low voice) ‘Cmon, ‘cmon...
TONY

Darkness.

Javert is strangely silent. Enjolras rallies the revolutionaries back to their positions while Valjean takes Javert around the side of a house, out of sight of the barricade.
From overhead, a raven calls. Valjean pauses a moment to track its flight, then turns back to Javert.

Days pass and then, we meet... again...
Javert has vanished. A pile of ropes, slashed and tangled, mark the place where he was just moments before.

A shout of alarm is stifled by a rope, pulled tightly around Valjean’s neck. He flails helplessly as the rope crushes his windpipe, the ends of which are yanked by none other than Javert. Dark strands snake outward from the assailant's joints, melting away into the deepening dusk.
A flying fist connects with Javert’s face, and his captive falls to the ground. Valjean tries desperately to call for help, but can only manage a pitiful squeak. Javert recovers quickly, letting out a quiet laugh.
JAVERT
Oh, what a pity, the jailbird’s lost its voice!
Javert throws the rope aside and draws his billy stick. He advances on the winded Valjean, crumpled pathetically upon the ground.
JAVERT
5 years for stealing bread, 14 for evading your end. 17 years of fleeing from justice, straight into this nest of traitors! I have my orders, 24601... you will not escape AGAIN!

The lights of the Gotham City Opera flash down on the personages formerly known as Masked Knight and Electroman, now tied up on the pavement. The heros Birdgirl and TroiBoi stand around the figures as Blaziqueen stacks their equipment in a separate pile. Electroman’s helmet has been removed, revealing the grotesquely scarred face of the Joker.

Back away! Don’t touch it!
A plume of smoke erupts from the backpack, and the wires lose charge. The three electrocution victims slump to the ground.
