State - target distance for each team

Post by Mtc1 »

Does any one know if the target distance will be the same for all teams?

Since time is a tie breaker, I would assume they will give the same target distance for every team.

Target distance must be the same for all teams, otherwise the competition isn't fair. Even if time wasn't relevant, it's harder to get same distance accuracy over a longer distance.

I agree.
It's a state level competition, so everything should be equal.

I wanted to see if anyone knew it for sure.

Yes. It is the rule for all competitions (state, regional, invitational, whatever) that all competitors have the same target distances for the vehicle events, for Trajectory, and so on.

That's explicit in the event logistics guide. It is only implicit in the Mousetrap event rules. But if you've competed in a competition where different teams had different targets for Mousetrap, then it was run wrong, and you need to have your coach have a word with the tournament organizers so they do better next time.
