I don't think it's really possible to implement it in an elegant fashion like there was with the IRC. It's possible to open Discord in a browser, but integrating it with the website would be a little more difficult.
I came across this, and it made me wonder... I'm not even certain if that's what it is, but I figured I'd ask anyway.

The other thing is I'm not sure how helpful it'd be to have an embedded Discord UI in the site if it's possible. A lot of people already have native Discord apps installed on their computer/phone/etc (unlike IRC, which is much older) which would probably provide better performance/integration. Also, the IRC one was a little more helpful because you could enter IRC anonymously from anywhere, unlike Discord, where you need an account.

As a side note, do y'all have any YouTube video or channel suggestions? I'm bored with my current selection.

Are you sure about that?
"In WidgetBot v2, by default, guests are disabled, and users must sign in with their Discord account to chat. If you want to enable guests and let users type in any name without logging in, send ??guestmode in your server after adding the bot."

I don't know anything about Discord, but that sounds to me like you can...

Now that you mention it, though, I don't know how helpful it would be if most people already have clients that they're used to. Like I said, I was just curious.

I think that’s for signing into and getting access to use a discord bot, which is not the same as the discord application itself. (Correct me if I’m wrong) For discord itself, you’ll need an account, but that is for an external discord bot, which doesn’t always need to be signed into a separately linked account to function within the discord application. Some bots require a signed in account in their bot platform, some can function without being signed in. This, however, is not the same as the discord platform itself, which needs an account.

While I do find it cool for such an embed, I'm not totally sure it'll fulfill the intention. Especially with the steps to confirm members on the server, I feel adding a guest mode would not work with the current system in place.

Not totally clear what you are getting at here tbh, but just to clarify what it is, it's a way of creating Discord client embeds onto sites. The bot is required mainly to read the messages on the server so that the info can be displayed without having the user sign in. Guest mode messages also appear to be sent by the bot via webhooks.

That being said, while Discord does have a client version, it started as (and still is) a web-based application. You can actually go to http://discord.com/channels/@me to load the browser version. While personally, I've always used the client version, I've also found that people (including people from my university) have used the browser version over the client version, so that might be a viable option.

Hmm, wonder if IRC used to get a lot of trolls/spammers too.

In the year that I was on IRC, we had two—Steve and jester. We suspect Steve was an alt account of someone in IRC while jester was a random person.
