Re: Amphibians and Reptiles
the call i like the best is one from ranidae i think, that sounds like someone badly strumming a banjo.

some good links are:sewforlife wrote:my states are over, there was one question on frog calls. what i would do is go on google and search up north american frog calls. listen to the recordings of bufonidae, hylidae, and ranaidae, the main frog families and try to put into words wat they sound like

http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/s ... Calls.html
http://www.naturesound.com/frogs/frogs.html
http://amphibiaweb.org/resources/frogcalls.html

Re: Amphibians and Reptiles
Are there any frogs that exist except frog calls? For example, are there any lizard calls we have to memorize?
thnx. And thank you for posting the frog calls.

well you could, but i think there wouldn't be any of those. like rattlesnake sounds are really distinct so.. yeah.crabnebula143 wrote:Are there any frogs that exist except frog calls? For example, are there any lizard calls we have to memorize?

Re: Amphibians and Reptiles
A lot of different geckos make different sounds. Tokay geckos go to-kay! Some others go geck-o! Many others make different sounds. However you probably won't get ANY calls, though I wouldn't be surprised to hear them at nationals. If you do get calls, they will most likely be frog calls. Also know how to recognise vocalizations of geckos, crocodylians, and anything else, but concentrate on frogs.robotman09 wrote:the only lizard that makes a sound are tokay geckos and they are really easy to tell
