I've had her for over ten years at this point, so probably not. I caught a lot of flak on IRC for that but I don't think you need to name something to be able to love it. She was a stray when we found her - nobody claimed her when we put up "found" posters and she didn't have a chip or anything when we took her to the vet so we kind of just have a cat now. Unfortunately though, since we didn't adopt her or anything we never really gave her a name and to be honest she probably wouldn't respond to one anyways. If I need to get her attention, I usually snap at her or click my tongue and she comes walking over.

She's a weird cat for other reasons. Don't let the name thing be your biggest stumbling block.

That's very true! You don't need to name her. She seems very independant.
