So I was gonna make a new thread to discuss username origins, but I saw this one already existed (even it was over 10 years ago lol), so yeah let's just use this. What are the origins of our names in 2020?

Giantpants comes from a name I chose for my first Wizard101 character back in 2009, since Wizard101 names are in the structure of [First name] [Adjective][Some noun] lol so my original character was named Adam Giantpants, since Adam was the closest name to my real name haha. Why did I choose Giantpants? Idk I was in 1st grade lol I feel like I thought it was funny just bc of pure ridiculousness.

So, yeah I still play Wizard101, sometimes my interest in it flares up over a break or a summer when I don't have much else to do lol and Adam Giantpants is one of my four max level characters. So fast forward almost 10 years to when I joined scioly.org, I wanted a unique and easily identifiable username, so yeah, Giantpants.

How about you guys? Hope to hear more fun stories!

As for the story behind my username: When I was little, I had this habit of running towards my parents when they picked me up at daycare/kindergarten, and jumping onto them. According to them, it was like being hit by a small truck or charging bull ("man niu"). I utilized the same strategy for youth soccer throughout most of elementary school, and the nickname MadCow stuck haha. I was so proud of my reputation, in fact, that I actually wrote short stories about myself and friends who were conveniently named Demented Doggy, Sean the Sheep, etc.

Needless to say, I was a quirky child (still am heh). Unfortunately, I didn't realize that all cows were female until many years later. A source of constant discomfort nowadays whenever I think about it lol...

On the contrary, MadBull doesn't really have the same ring, does it?

In 2008, I was obsessed with the brain-training site Lumosity, back when they gave you the ability to play a lot more games than they do now with the free trial. After awhile, I realized that I was a kid with the inability to actually pay for it, yet I started making usernames with Lumosityfan (fan of Lumosity) Even though I don't use Lumosity anymore, the name just stuck with me over the years.

i was really into meteo last year and at the time i couldnt tell the difference between alto/cirrocumulus for my life and for some reason felt bothered enough to make my username ihateclouds. i also thought it sounded better than iloveclouds.
i realized later that it made it sound like i hate clouds and meteo even though i really love them oops >w<

I was a dumb 8th grader who made an account for the sole purpose of asking you guys what school I should attend. Even in video games, my usernames have been extremely bad/cringe/trash/idk, so I just came up with some random name and now i'm stuck with it cause I can't think of anything else lmao
