Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
i would say its better to tweak the design, because using lower density wood would make the bridge weaker, and it wouldnt be able to hold as much weight.gandhiji wrote:is using lower density wood a good way to lower weight or is it better to tweak with the design

Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
If your bridges are holding over the max (15kg) you can try using lower density wood where the sturcture is overbuilt. It also depends on what density wood you are currently using. If it's already light, you should try to make your design better. In some cases a combination of both would be best.gandhiji wrote:is using lower density wood a good way to lower weight or is it better to tweak with the design
*edit*
I disagree with sewfor life, using low density wood doesn't necceraly make the bridge weaker if you use more of it.
For example.
If you use 5g worth of Xdenstiy wood, you could use twice the amount of 1/2Xdensity wood and it would still be 5g

Re: Elevated Bridge B/C
ok thx cuz i built a 10 gram bridge that held the whole 15 kg without breaking (i used 2.2 density) so now i built the bridge over again with lighter 1.3 density and it weighs 6.2 but i need to test it out now
