Yes, I agree. The answer should be B as far as I can tell.RitikaKK wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 7:52 am 40. Which of the following is not a post-transcriptional modification commonly made to transcripts in eukaryotic cells?
A. A modified guanine is added to the 3’ end of the transcript
B. Exons are spliced out
C. A string of adenines is added to the 5’ end of the transcript
D. All of the above
What answer choice do you think it would be?
The answer key says D, but I disagree because introns are spliced out, not exons.
Heredity B

Re: Heredity B
I think D means that "all of the above statements" are incorrect. A is incorrect since the guanine cap is added to the 5' end, not the 3', and C is incorrect because the Poly-A tail is on the 3' end, not the 5'. You guys already established that B is also incorrect, so the answer would be D.EwwPhysics wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 1:49 pmYes, I agree. The answer key is correct; the guanine cap is added to the 5' end, and the poly(A) tail is added to the 3' end.RitikaKK wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 7:52 am 40. Which of the following is not a post-transcriptional modification commonly made to transcripts in eukaryotic cells?
