Both div B and div C have the same rules. Div B might be marginally worse than div C scores, but not by a lot.snowyowl wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2020, 5:44 amAre we talking division b or division c? I was referring to division b, I also suspect that division c will be above 10.Giantpants wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2020, 8:54 pmI noticed that after LISO, PPP got a LOT more competitive. A score that would’ve gotten us 1st at LISO got us 3rd at Columbia, a smaller and overall less competitive invy, with a similar ceiling height.
Tbh if I had to guess, I’d guess top 20 will be probably be around or a little above 10, since I think scores will clump in the teens for a lot of top teams.

For Boomi, I think 3 teams will get above 2k. If not 2 at least.legitimately wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2020, 5:08 pmBoomi - I think top 20 is a lot closer to 1k than 500 — I would guess around 850. This could be a really big underestimate or overestimate::
Boomi: 500
Gravity: 25 points, or 20 cm
PPP: 5 seconds
Wright: 20 seconds total
Gravity: oof don’t know that much about this one, top 10 is likely sub-15, top 20 is probably like sub-25 I guess
PPP: top 10 is 15-20s, top 20 is probably near 10s ngl
Wright: top 10 is 85+? top 20 is 30+
my expectations might be a bit high but I do think NY is around here — I’m actually scared of guessing better scores
Top 5 around 1.5k
Top 10 around 1.2-1.3k
Usually scores become more tightly packed towards the 1.3k-1.5k so it’ll be hard to guess what this is going to be

Re: New York 2020
Oooooooops I meant division C. I have no idea how much Div B PPP has improved since LISO (probably a comparable amount?) Id say seeking out Cornell times from some top NY teams would be the best indicator of how it’s progressing, but prob really similar to Div B.
Also:
Division B regionals is the best lol. If I had to make predictions: (which are really random and based on LISO and random intuition so probably won’t be accurate at all)
1. South Woods - amazing LISO performance, strong win last year, looks good for another win
2. Weber - historically strong, overall great team
3. Great Neck South - states qual in 2019, strong LISO performance not far behind Weber, they seem to be an improving team and I’m excited to see them embody a lot of the skill and power that their high school has
4. Wisdom Lane - good showing at regs last year, a little behind GNS at LISO, but yeah lol
5. SAIL - SAIL had a breakout performance at states last year, beating Brother Fox by a hair, and I could see a similar thing happening at regionals this year
6. Brother Fox - I think my old team can make states, but not comfortably, given their LISO performance as well as what I’ve seen in the lab from their preparations. I would love to be proven wrong, but this is just how I feel about them.
It’s gonna be a close one on every front from our region! Good luck to everyone competing this Saturday!

2. Weber- always strong
3. SAIL- agree with you, good at states
4. Salk
5. Wisdom Lane
6. Brother Fox
* Great Neck South had a disappointing finish at states last year
Good luck! (and congratulations!)

2k for top 3 teams seems kinda high for boomi, unless there were some major improvements since regionals and invysscioly2345 wrote: ↑March 3rd, 2020, 6:06 amFor Boomi, I think 3 teams will get above 2k. Re: New York 2020
I am furious right now, and here is the backstory as to why: our team was going to states this year, but our county--a country that's kind of in the middle of nowhere--has had a sort of panic shutdown over the coronavirus. No schools in the county are allowed to have field trips outside of the county during the month of March, and states just so happens to be outside of it. Are any other counties having similar shutdowns? I have to assume that places like the city and Westchester County will also have or already have similar shutdowns as well. Is there any possibility that, if this is true for other counties, states would be postponed if many teams will not be able to come?

Wow that really sucks. I understand the need to contain the virus but unless they shut down inter-county travel altogether cancelling school trips alone isn't going to help very much imo. Which school and county are you from?Raesow wrote: ↑March 5th, 2020, 1:22 pm I am furious right now, and here is the backstory as to why: our team was going to states this year, but our county--a country that's kind of in the middle of nowhere--has had a sort of panic shutdown over the coronavirus. I am from ulster county. I believe there are only 2 schools from our county who are going to states this year, us (Onteora) and Mount Academy. Big L honestly considering that I have spent the past week staying at the school until like 6pm finally getting the gravity vehicle to be less jank lmao.ET2020 wrote: ↑March 5th, 2020, 2:02 pmWow that really sucks.
