What???? Is that real? I wonder what the ceiling height was.
According to the web site, https://goldengateso.com/announcements/, 30' ceiling.

The 5-minute may also be after bonuses. Still, very good, would have to be slightly over 2 minutes per flight. And it was not Troy (they got 2nd)

Coach Chuck
Yea I heard Troy was at about 3 min combined raw. (Also I think the 5 min might've been raw not sure tho)
i think you’re getting the 5min you’re thinking of is ppp....
1st got 168s raw for both flights combined, idk how the calculated bonuses worked

Ppp was outdoors

168 raw would average 84 per flight, not quite 1:30 even

SO usually does not officially release raw scores, so we may never know...

yes, ppp was outdoors many parachutes got stuck in an air pocket

as for flight times, i have 1-2-3 flight times but i’m not sure whether those competitora are comfortable w their times being released publicly

this is not true, I saw the flight and timed them, and the scores breakdowns from ggso graders do not show that either, they had a combined just 10 seconds above troy

Ahh I see. I guess my sources weren't reliable... Sorry! (Although I think 2:30 each way is probably gonna be nationals 1st place what do y'all think?)

We’ll see. Unlikely full capability will be seen in competition as the penalty for hitting a ceiling is so great.

One bad flight can cut your score in half.

Here is what I posted after the GGOS, my son got the first place.

Raw time:

First (Milpitas Blue): 1:14 (left, height ~15) + 1:37(right, height 25?) Biplane.
Second (Troy A): 1:18 + 1:27. (not sure the height, ~20). Monoplane.
Third (Troy B): 1:01+1:20. Monoplane.

Scary part:
The timer supervisor said my son did not do the bonus. Luckily, I have the video to proof it.

Please make sure you video it and better communicate with the judge before hand what you going to do.

The PPP is fun. I heard that Lynbrook's parachute got lucky up-wind, and just going higher and higher, they cannot see it anymore, so called it stop at 5 minutes.
