Tangling

Post by CookiePie1 »

We're having an issue with tangling parachute cords. Any way around this? We are using sewing threads and scotch tape to attach it to the ball.

try experimenting with different ways of taping your strings onto the ball & parachute (something like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Nwhha73YH4 could help, i'm assuming you've just been taping your sewing string on at both ends rather than in the middle). Also try wrapping some tape around a common spot on all of the strings below the ping pong ball, this reduces tangling by a lot.

It also decreases your time. Tape all strings individually to the ball and just be careful with the strings. If it gets tangled just untangle it

make sure that your strings are situated in such a way that they are evenly distributed on your parachute and on your rocket before launch.

try using different materials/measurements for strings as well.
