Scores

Post by MTV<=>Operator »

I haven't yet been to an invitational so I'm not sure what device scores (out of 60) would be considered competitive. What would be a competitive score for regional rules and for state rules?

Scores above 55 will get you top 3 pretty much anywhere, regardless of any invitational.

You're joking, right? You need essentialy perfect, ie >58 to even be somewhat competitive.

Yeah, I've also heard that scores need to be near-perfect to be competitive.

How many different water temperatures did they have to help calibration? I just don't see how I could possibly be that accurate with a calibration using only a few values.

They provided water at both ends of the temp range and cups to mix the water as per the rules.

That is with Nationals scoring, though? IIRC MIT uses Nationals scoring, and the same performance with Regionals scoring would be 57.6.
