Re: Scores
Distance was 11.5 running cross-grain on a gym (wood) floor. The floor was in pretty good shape IMO.

Re: Scores
Naperville North Varsity won the UChicago Invitational on yesterday with a sub-5 score. Not sure exactly, but the time was around 3 seconds and the vehicle distance was definitely less than 2 cm.

Re: Scores
Posting distances should be fine as 1) theres no bonus like buggy last year and 2) time score isnt included:
1st/North B/4.8cm
2nd/LM B/5.9cm
3rd/Cedar Cliff/5.9cm
4th/CV B/6.9cm
5th/Chaminade/6.9cm
6th/Kellenberg A/10.0cm
7th/Penncrest/19.0cm
8th/GNS/21.0cm
9th/CV A/22.5cm
10th/North A/25.0cm
11th/N Pocono B/25.4cm
12th/Rustin B/26.5cm
13th/Rustin A/30.5cm
14th/N Pocono A/32.7cm
15th/NW Lehigh A/33.0cm
1 team got <5cm, 6 teams got <10cm, 10 teams got <25cm.

Re: Scores
I managed a 14 and change on my 11th practice run today at 10.5 m, Regionals distances. It would be more consistent if my ramp met the floor at such a angle that my car didn't bounce nearly a inch into the air, both front and back, when it hit the bottom, but I can usually get the car to run straight at least 1 of the 2 runs. I'm consistently getting 3.9 to 4.1 seconds for my time. The car is 4 strips of poplar with a board in the middle, has CD wheels, and has no weight added. The ramp is within 5 cm of all dimensions, and the car launches from the top. It has a wing nut brake on what is now the back because the dowel was scraping the ramp when it was on the front and I didn't wanna move axles around. I have rubber treads on the back to avoid the fishtailing I was getting that was knocking one of my wheels off.
