Measurements for the parachute and string?

Post by EnvyLoveScience »

Hi we try many different measurements and they don't seem to work. Any suggestions?

I've found that the strings should be about 3/2 the diameter of the parachute, but experimentation will be necessary.

Hi I have tried many different thicknesses but they either break very easily or their too heavy. I usually use flimsy plastic trash bags. Any sugestions??

For the parachute material I would suggest one of those table cloths that people use at parties, it''s a pretty good weight and all that. Or drop cloth, you can get them at home depot and some other stores.

A big clear trash bag works well too. The school ones tend to be cheap/light so we use those and have successful results.

Just making sure, the trashbags you are using are the clear kinds you find at school, right?

I think clear ones are a bit lighter but either should work.

The bigger and lighter, the better
Carbon Fiber and glue are all you need for flying events

My friend says build events are easy. Trying to prove him wrong.
