Re: Scioly Achievement List
Surprised I haven't posted in here yet! Here are mine........
BEAT THE CURVE ACHIEVEMENT: Definitely what happened during Wright Stuff at state. Our plane barely got into the air and then crashed anyway. We still got 2nd because so many teams were a no-show for WS.
MULTIPLE GUESS ACHIEVEMENT: When you do mainly study events, this kind of thing happens a lot.
O2 ACHIEVEMENT: I do Fossils and Experimental Design with the same person! This happened with the exact same partner too when we did Ecology together along with EXPD.
UNCONTESTED ACHIEVEMENT: 2nd place had 62 points, we had 28.
RAGE ACHIEVEMENT: This happened at an invitational I was at! Fortunately though they found the mixup and sent the medals to the teams who actually did place after the competition, so we had a mini awards ceremony during a team meeting.
UN-STREET SMART ACHIEVEMENT: I got lost trying to find the building Wright Stuff was in, a person biking saw me mumbling under my breath and looking panicked and she asked me if I needed help lol.

Re: Scioly Achievement List
I have some more to add:
POTATO ACHIEVEMENT: Compete in the same event for two years in a row but still stink at it the second year
FALSE FLEX ACHIEVEMENT: Discuss your top-notch practice scores in loud voices with your partner prior to the event, then utterly fail
(My partner and I talking loudly at regionals about our 3:10 flight times for WS in practice followed by our plane refusing to lift and only flying for 15 seconds)
FLASHY FAILURE ACHIEVEMENT: Fail so spectacularly in a build event that you make the event supervisor's day and don't even feel disappointed
(Our Mission lighting on fire due to nichrome wire being powered for too long. Pretty decent sized flame and the ES said "that was almost as sensational as last years". We thought we deserved some style points for that)

O2 and Host at 2019 Regs We competed in 3 events together, but we medaled in 2 because the thermo test was copied from a past test (it was also super easy). So, it came down to your box, and our box was pretty bad.

Got second at state for Mystery Architecture, then got 15th the next year even though it was the same partner

FALSE FLEX ACHIEVEMENT: Thermo Fricking Dynamics
we were doing so well on practice tests and our box was amazing
but then the test was super easy and we made some stupid mistakes that knocked us down a ton of places
we would've won states if we had placed

Re: Scioly Achievement List
I just found this thread and I think everyone in my English class thinks I'm insane since I've been laughing randomly at achievements...
Anyway, here's mine:
CLUTCH ACHIEVEMENT: Those few times I did DP in 8th grade...
SPEEDBUILD ACHIEVEMENT: Battery Buggy last year
SPEED REDO ACHIEVEMENT: R&M 8th grade, and Road so many times last year
FLYING SOLO ACHIEVEMENT: My Circuit Lab partner for the Solon invite was supposed to bring his binder. Let's just say that he didn't.
NEWTON-LEIBNIZ ACHIEVEMENT: Did this manyyyyy times in Circuit Lab
GUESTIMATION ACHIEVEMENT: Battery Buggy 2k19
REVERSE ENGINEERING ACHIEVEMENT: Detector Building (Trial) 2k18
MULTIPLE GUESS ACHIEVEMENT: I do this way too often
BLIND STAB ACHIEVEMENT: Also do this way too often
BS ACHIEVEMENT: I did this in Dynamic and 8th grade, and then pretended that I had known what I was doing
PARASITE ACHIEVEMENT: When I was drafted into Solar in 8th grade. The only useful things I did were 1. knowing spring and neap tides and 2. being able to calculate the size of moon craters based on a picture. Also me in Dynamic Planet
STUDY EVENT PARASITISM ACHIEVEMENT: ...still me in DyPlan
UNCONTESTED ACHIEVEMENT: Circuit Lab at regionals (the margin was apparently like 20 points). Also Mystery at regionals (margin was like 20cm)
HUNGER ACHIEVEMENT: I may or may not have licked Halite in Div A Rock Hound in 5th grade
POPULARITY AWARD: We go to 9 invites
TEAM RELATIONS: Doesn't everyone do this?

Re: Scioly Achievement List
It has come to my attention that I haven't posted here. Oh boy, here we go.
Courtesy of BennyTheJett's Userpage
Clutch Achievement: Astronomy @ Regionals, Freshman Year. We were absolutely terrible at astro, and I still am...
Mega-Clutch Achievement: Ecology Freshman Year. Even more terrible than astronomy.
Host Achievement: R+M Medford Invite, Freshman Year. My partner wrote in the answers I told her to, and knew precisely 2 answers on the whole test, both of which I also knew.
Flying Solo Achievement: Dynamic Planet @ Boyceville Invite, Sophomore Year. The time blocks were changed last minute, and he showed up to Dynamic in the fourth event slot, though I had taken it in the second slot. He was clueless that I took it alone. I raged soooooooo hard at him in the homeroom, to the point that I felt bad and apologized later on.
Beat The Curve Achievement: Herpetology @ Medford Invite, Sophomore Year. Yet another event I really sucked at. Glad to see herp leave.
Multiple Guess Achievement: Every test, every meet. Everyone does this I presume.
Blind Stab Achievement: See above
Consistency Achievement: R+M Freshman Year. I got 5th at Medford (My parasite story) and 5th at state.
America Achievement: Boyceville invy this year.
Donor Achievement: My TI-84+ at most invites I go to.
(SPAIN)ish Achievement: Regionals Sophomore Year. 2)Geologic 3)Fossils 4)DyPlan (Oceanography>Glaciers) 5)Herpetology (DP Glaciers>Herps)
Uncontested Achievement: Belleville Junior Year in DyPlan (Yesterday, actually). It was the hardest test I think I've ever taken (Think most of the other teams gave up which probably helped. Marquette A and Madison West Varsity both did a nice job on the test as well). It definitely helped that my partner and I are both in NOSB (http://nosb.org/). Still don't fully understand magnetic burnholes, but I did learn about the Puerto Rico Trench.

HOST ACHIEVEMENT: Mission Possible and Heredity (this is going to happen most of my build events isn't it)
MULTIPLE GUESS ACHIEVEMENT: There was a matching section on the Heredity test asking about inheritance patterns of genetic diseases we didn't know the patterns to but I sorta knew what most of the diseases were and took a few educated guesses and somehow we got all of those questions right but one
EARLY BIRD ACHIEVEMENT: Finished Heredity with around 20 minutes to spare even after checking and re-checking and my partner getting a bit antsy (it was a pretty easy test)
SYMBIOTIC RELATIONSHIP: My Game On partner is awesome
DONOR AWARD: yyyyup
SPEED REDO ACHIEVEMENT/BEAT THE CURVE ACHIEVEMENT: how the heck did we get 7TH in Road Scholar when we got LITERALLY HALF THE QUESTIONS WRONG AND DIDN'T EVEN COMPLETE THE MAP DRAW
