I am bamboozled as to why DP requires a binder. Not necessarily bad, but now I'm trying out for 4 binder events.

It's a new event that was a test event at nats, it's the same rules basically.

Boomilevers will now receive huge bonuses for holding the entire load. Finally, I won't be bothered when the audience only claps for unbroken boomies ;)

Seriously, this is a great rule change because it's much closer to the goals of structural engineering: Hold the specified weight with as little material as possible.

I think the clause for anatomy topics being limited to the ones listed is new.

edit: Nope, it's not new. It's just the only thing written there.

Where do you find event conflicts? Is it in the national website?
8th grade events: Mission Possible and Hovercraft.
High School: Codebusters, Designer genes, Gravity Vehicle, Mission Possible, Machines, Ping Pong Parachute, Boomilever, Protein Modeling.

At the end of the rules, there's the National Tournament schedule. Most competitions will try to follow the same schedule. Although you should check with your local competitions as that's not always the case.
