Aren't teachers not supposed to enforce their opinions on their students?

On the one hand, it's not all that productive for a teacher to force an anti-gun punishment on a student. On the other hand, what a silly rebuttal. False equivalencies everywhere.

This whole "Amazon is burning" thing is a great example of sensationalist drama.

Not really cuz of global warming. Apparently while you'd think the rain forest would help with producing oxygen and what not it really doesn't. This is due to so many different creatures living in the forest consuming the oxygen produced. Worst part of the fires is gonna be the loss of exotic and endangered wildlife. But the burning of trees is also not good for our CO2 emissions as well...

Of all the things to be sensationalist about, fires in the Amazon is a pretty darn good one to do so with.

The fires are not significantly higher than in the past. You'll see news articles reporting that they're nearly twice as high as last year, which is true, but also not that relevant because they vary greatly from year to year - the current amount of fire is significantly less than it was during the mid-2000s, and is solidly within historical averages over the last 20-30 years (typical time periods used in climate science). Furthermore, everyone talks about "the Amazon is burning", but that only holds if you include random brushland that's being burned for farming. The actual rainforest, which holds most of the biomass, is not known to be burning any more than in the past.
