State Distances

Post by BobbyJoe »

For those of you who have finished competing at states. What were the distances they gave you? I'm curious to see if they tend to give higher or lower distances.

Can't say, but for future reference it's generally not good practice to post the same question in multiple topics.

I believe it is completely random. Anywhere from 2-4 meters in 10cm intervals. I'd recommend making markings on your brakes for every 50 cm so you have a good idea of where to place the lock device.

I think Tennessee was 3.8 or 3.9. If I find where I made a note of it, I'll say for sure...

iirc New York was 2.5 meters, but our supervisor makes it completely random, so there's no correlation for us lol

I think it was 2.6 meters actually, but it is completely randomized as you said. I think the only distances they wouldn't use would be 2, 3, or 4 meters exactly.

PA they messed up. Actual track distance was 3.3m back, but they gave us a distance of 3.7m.
