Tbh, we were slightly stacked, but not much more than the unavoidable stack that we get from how the schedule works out, and definitely not fully stacked.builderguy135 wrote:As far as I know Solon wasn't stacked at Cornell. They only lost by 19 points. Without bombs they would have sweeped us, with an UNSTACKED team.dxu46 wrote:For Community and Solon, I thought community was stacked at all their invitationals whereas others weren't. I really didn't know about those two, but I put Solon in first, well, because it's Solon.Deathstalker wrote:
I'd probably switch Community and Solon, mostly because of the Cornell results, and because of the fact that Community has been put against some huge powerhouse teams (like Beckendorff or Solon) and come out on top. I'd probably also switch Beckendorff and DWJHS, but then switch DWJHS with Gelinas. SSA seems a bit low, as they've done about this year compared to last year, I'd probably move them up to 11 and push everything else down. Everything else looks good.
I could definitely see the switches with Daniel Wright, it's just that I don't know anything about Beckendorff + it's Daniel Wright, so yeah. About Gelinas, I definitely don't think they'll do that well. Sure, they'll do really well but there are still teams that I'd put over them. Plausible? Sure, but my (unprofessional) opinion is that there are better teams. (Sorry to the Gelinas kids on the forums :/)
Finally, I could see SSA that high, but it all depends on who bombs less. The teams I put from 11-15 were realllly hard to do - Meads and Longfellow were top 10 teams, and Tower Heights and Highlands are all amazing teams. I wish I could've just said that 11-15 will be some subset of those teams, but I feel the gap between the 5 will be very close. So, I'm just judging based off of previous results. If SSA has a good day, they could pull 11th.
Yikes.

Now that it is publicly known that springhouse actually came 2nd overall at Cornell invitational, beating Solon and Gelinas, should'nt they be rated higher?dxu46 wrote:Updated predictions (for B)
1. Solon (duh)
2. Community (won every invitational they've been to, plus last year's great improvement)
3. Kennedy
4. Beckendorff (I don't know anything about Beckendorff this year but i'll just put them at 4th because other people predict them high)
5. Daniel Wright (definitely weaker)
6. Kraemer (good state score, overall good team)
7. Gelinas (good state score brings them up)
8. Springhouse (not sure about this one)
9. Marie Murphy (looks like they almost beat Daniel Wright at state)
10. Piedmont
11. Longfellow
12. Tower Heights
13. Meads Mill (may be a bit low but they were beaten at regionals, albeit only by 1 point, but it's still bad)
14. Highlands
15. SSA
16. Hamilton
17. Eagle Hill

No...?
I think Springhouse is weaker this year, so that's why I put them lower than last year.

You still seem to have some old information. That was before Cornell organizers fixed their mistake. http://www.springhousescioly.org/2019.htmlbuilderguy135 wrote:They came 5th, not second. In addition, the scores on Ezra reflect their placement. https://www.ezratech.us/competition/cor ... 19/results

Re: Unofficial Rankings B
Ezra should have the most updated information. That page is a team website, which doesn't necessarily override the word of a major scoring system. Maybe Springhouse originally came in 2nd and scoring updates changed their place to 5th.sciolyfan2005 wrote:You still seem to have some old information. Even if they got 2nd, I still wouldn't move them up. The margin between the top few teams at Cornell was really small, except for a medium sized margin between Community and Gelinas.

Springhouse was placed 5th at the time of awards, and is still placed 5th on Ezra. Never at any time did Ezra say that they got 2nd. (It's not like they deserve 2nd, their parents do all their builds anyways ¯\_(ツ)_/¯dxu46 wrote:Ezra should have the most updated information. Re: Unofficial Rankings B
Also, while we are on the topic, it really is a shame that more states and invitationals don't use Ezra.
