Being honest I wouldn't take Valpo too seriously. Some of the events run were fine like fossils and dynamic, but some were absolutely horrendous. Thermo for example was just abysmal. The starting temperature for the water was 58.4 degrees C (The minimum for reference is 60 degrees C). The ES also held our beaker after she poured the water for a solid 5-10 seconds while talking to someone which loses quite a lot of heat. The test was 15 questions that were really easy and 3 of them were thrown out. Two because the answers were right next to them and one because it didn't give info to answer the question. The only redeeming factor was that the ES was nice. Circuit Lab had questions relating to AC circuit theory which in the rules states that AC circuit theory is a topic NOT to be included. And for Roller Coaster, well we kinda bombed that one (lol, connor), but after our first run the ES forgot to keep timing the whole 8 minutes of time that we should get for testing so he just gave us a minute to do stuff which was more than likely wrong. Well top 2 I think would be accurate. However, once we get the scores publicly released I think the 3-5 places could've been a toss up if the events were ran slightly better. Eh. Maybe. I feel like if it was ran better I still could have gotten a better placing. If it was run how pika ran it at state last year then the prediction would have been easier since we would actually have a proper temperature relative to our graphs and we would also have time to go to our desks to take some time to make measurements and then predict. The way it was run at VU made us feel rushed to get a prediction down since the time for the heat to cool down was also the time for us to take the test (at that point we didn't know how easy the test was).CPScienceDude wrote:Well top 2 I think would be accurate.
