I've been to Nationals twice (although in 7th grade I didn't actually compete, I was just there as an alternate), and I got 3rd in WIDI last year.

If only I could do a building event, I could easily medal at Nationals.

*raises eyebrows* Maybe it's just us, but I've always had the feeling that tech events are the hardest to medal in- because they're the least consistent, among other factors.

My school is amazing at building events. We got gold in Robo last year, 3rd in Trajectory, and 5th in Scrambler.

Wow Phenyl thats amazing! Medaling at nationals seems godlike or something, nice work. Have you already qualified for nats this year? We have states on April 18...I am preparing to take down those elitist teams. 8-)

We haven't had States yet- ours is also April 18th :-) - and we might- just a little bit- be considered one of the "elitist" teams in our competition lol, since we've gotten first for the past 3 years (I was only there for the past 2, though).
Medaling at Nats isn't a lot harder than medaling at States; it's getting to Nationals that's hard, and once you're there, if you're good at your event, you have a pretty good chance of medaling.

Sweet, I guess my performance is really good since I got 1st and 3rd at states 08' for physics lab and circuit lab, respectively :D . Good luck at states, your probably going to own once again. What other events do you compete in/do well in besides WIDI?

Well, actually, I'm not doing WIDI this year ( :-( )- I have conflicts all the way up. I do Experimental Design, Crimebusters, Crave the Wave, Environmental Chem, and Ecology (in order of how well I think I'll do in them...).

Lol, that conflict with WIDI sucks...your like 3rd best in the nation and you cant even do it. Our team has had serious problems with Experimental Design...we dont do very well at all. How do you do well in that event? any pointers/advice?
