1. Scott Joplin
2. Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky
3. Georges Bizet
4. Ludwig van Beethoven
5. Gioacchino Rossini

I wouldn't exactly classify Joplin as classical...

Pedantically, of those, only Beethoven could be considered classical (although I'd say he's a Romantic composer). The rest are later than the Classical period (especially Joplin).

Beethoven was the transition between Classical and Romantic. Also, I'd argue that Rossini was more classical than romantic, though his later works could be argued for either way.
