I know this is kinda late but i don't get the steering part or why we have to do it, primarily because of the track not being released yet...or has it? Please help me.

There is a diagram of the track according to the current rules on the first or second page of this thread.

The turn is necessary for a high score because of the VTP's location of 0.10m to the right of the imaginary centerline for Regions, 0.25m for State, and 0.50m for Nationals. A variance in the steering is necessary because of the varying length of travel. I hope that makes sense to you.

There is a track diagram link on the first page, but it is last year's diagram. The official new one will be linked to here when the Scioly people get around to making it. But, until then, this one looks correct to me:
