Unless hurricane Florence destroys the whole east coast, MO is not going to have 3 bids buddy
Isn't that kinda what happened last year with Texas? Hurricanes came, and alot of schools stopped their programs? (correct me if im wrong)

IIRC, Texas C was always directly in front of Missouri C. When hurricane Washington DC and Hurricane Vermont C hit, both TX and MO C were wiped out.

Ye theres that, but if you look at the chart: 216 teams in 2016, 243 in 2017, but then there were only 229 last year.

Haha. dxu46, I like your excellent descriptors for the new bids that were introduced last year.

I didn't see this until now, but it seems like Central East regionals will now be taking Bucks Country off of Southeast's hands... I guess this means more teams in CE and less teams in SE now. Anyone think this is going to change competition in Central East?

Good catch. Most of the top SEPA teams will remain in that region, but the biggest shift will be Central Bucks South, which has qualified for states a few times before. I'd expect them to jump into that second tier of CEPA schools with Central Catholic, Parkland, Whitehall, Exeter Township, and Kutztown. Other than that, not much will shift other than numbers; I only see 6 other C schools that would change regions, and the highest placing of those teams from 2018 was Central Bucks West, at 20th. Perhaps the added upward mobility inspires some of their programs to grow.

B should also be relatively unaffected; only two schools from Bucks competed in 2018, Tohickon and Holicong, and they placed 12th and 17th, respectively. Given that 7th-place Haverford placed 11 places lower than the lowest CE team at states last year, the overall balance won't be shifted very much in the immediate future. But, it's possible this inspires more schools from Upper Bucks to join, which would be nice.

Maybe next year they'll shift Northumberland back to Northeast, now. CE would be awkwardly stretched otherwise, and Northumberland has more links to the Northeast than Central East geographically anyway.

well I'm not really surprised, considering that Central East had 13 teams compared to Southeast's 22 in div B, and 28 in CE and 38 in SE in div C

I like this change as it will help to balance out the regions but it has some deeper implications for SE and CE. It is not just Bucks County schools that will see a change but also Montgomery County Schools
Excerpt from letter:
In order to alleviate the situation, it has been decided to assign the Bucks County schools to the Central East Tournament at Kutztown University and to assign the Montgomery County schools that went to Kutztown University in years past back to the Southeast Tournament at Neumann University.
Thus teams like Perkiomen Valley and Upper Merion will be returning to the SE region. Unclear about Boyertown since they are both in Montgomery and Berks counties.

Depending on how the numbers work out I would think it likely to see CE C-div gain a spot to States and SE losing one. Thus for SE C-div it will likely become even harder for a new team to get one of those 7 state spots with the return of Perkiomen Valley which ranked 7th in the State last year and over the last 9 years has average 9th in the State. It seems the safe bet to predict that Harriton, LM, Rustin, Stoga, Penncrest, and PV will qualify from the SE region leaving one more spot.
