How do invitationals work at your school?

For anything Science Olympiad-related that might not fall under a specific event or competition.

We usually just go to local (30 min to 1 hour away) invitationals but will go to one that's far away every year. For those, we're gone from early Friday to late Sunday. In term of teams, we bring everyone (about 40 people) as one team. For invites in Kansas and parts of Missouri, there's usually no limit to the number of competitors in one event from one team. Idk how the teams thing (A and B and such) works in other parts of the country, but it sounds like most schools bring multiple?

To elaborate for those unaware, the team score is usually calculated based on the top-ranked team from each school in each event.
